What Love Does
by Lucy Connor

Love Laughs, it Longs, it Lusts, it Lives. It Labors and it Lingers.
It is Omniscient and Open, Outstanding and Over-joyed. It is Virile, Voracious, Vital and Vigorous. It is Eternal, Everlasting, Enjoyable, Even-tempered, Enticing, Engaging and Euphoric.

It makes us want to live and love…forever.

In a world that is full of bad-news, drugs, depression and fear, love can still make everything wonderful. It can calm a baby’s frustrations; help to heal a child’s wounds, make a man and a woman vow to love each other till death and ease the loneliness of a senior that has lost her forever. Love is the maker of magic, the writer of songs, the spirit of the dance, the soul of the poem. It is the thing we seek, we long for, we hunt down throughout our entire life…pursuing relentlessly….often unsuccessfully.

We can love our favorite pizza joint, the newest top 10 hit and the last five books in the Oprah book club. We can love to garden, to go out, to labor at our job and to buy a new pair of shoes. We can love almost anything, and remain unfulfilled. The search continues on until someday, if we are exceptionally lucky, we come across the other half to ourselves. We have all seen it. Even if we have never experienced it…we all know it is out there. Love makes itself known. Not in a bragging or boastful way, but in a whisper. Love has the heart of a servant, and seeks to do only what is best for the beloved. True love, is unlike anything that we have known in our lives to that point. True love, completes us, fills us and helps us to be the best version of ourselves.

Isn’t it worth the quest to see for ourselves, all that Love Does?
